BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY...
THEY GET EVEN.
Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister.
Kat is tired of the rumours, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person– her ex-best friend– and she's ready to make her pay.
Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she's not the same girl anymore. And she's ready to prove it to him.
Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won't stop until they each had a taste.

Being a fan of Jenny's Summer series, I was really excited to read this book. I have not read any of Siobhan's books but I am really curious to know what ideas came from what authors. That is one of the things I like about books like this, is you can have some really awesome ideas coming from both the authors and then it turns into a really great book. And I love the fact that Burn for Burn was much more surprising than I had originally thought it would be. I think both authors did a fantastic job on this book though, there were a lot of elements I loved while some left me curious as to what was actually going on.

The build up for the story is amazing, you really get to know each of the three main girls and you get a good sense of what is going on to cause this need for revenge. I found myself wanting to compare some of the plot lines to other similar stories but in the end I really felt like Jenny and Siobhan did a great job at really making the story feel unique and interesting. While I loved the build up, I have to admit I thought some of the character story lines were a little lacking. It wasn't really a large enough issue that would cause it to take away from the story, but I did feel like there was just a little lacking there. It's a very well rounded and enjoyable story, that I feel readers will really be able to enjoy.

As I mentioned above I had a few issues with some of the character building. And it was basically just in regards to Mary, Kat and Lillia. I loved these characters, they each brought amazing personalities to the story and in their own ways were able to make the story very enjoyable. The only real issue I had with them was having a feeling of wanting to know more about them. I mean you get by with enough to satisfy the needs of the story but I couldn't help but think that things could of been a little more fun if we were able to get to know them a little better than we actually did. While the three girls are amazing characters are amazing in their own ways, I felt like the real stars of this book was the side characters. It just seems like the authors put so much work into them, and really made them great assets to the story. You usually don't see many side characters in books having such a huge pull, but I really liked that about Burn for Burn.

I was disappointed in a few minor ways when it comes to Burn for Burn but in the end I felt like it was a very well crafted book. I do tend to be pretty picky about little things, but I was really impressed with the book as a whole. And as I mentioned at the start of the review, Burn for Burn does have a pretty surprising factor. I am sure it's something you will here about in other reviews but I want to leave it at that so you have something fun to look forward to. I will say that I really enjoyed the little twist added in by the authors, it really made things interesting towards the end of the book.

Burn for Burn will have pretty wide appeal, in my opinion. It captures a lot of elements that readers love, some which you might be shocked to see in the book too. But it all works really well together, and I feel like it was an interesting change of pace for Jenny based on her Summer series. The books couldn't be any more different and it was nice seeing a different side to her writing. I am really interested to read some of Siobhan's books now though. I just think both of these authors did a fantastic job creating this book and I hope you will all check it out whenever you get the chance to.

Thank you to Simon and Schuster for providing me with a copy of this book for review.

For me, I think that having only the perspective of the three girls was helpful because in the beginning you were totally pro-revenge, but as their opinions change, so does the reader's. I am definitely looking forward to book two - what an ending!
